Sadhu from Ujjain tracking solo to Badrinath through jungle road. No money to spend, relying on alms. 

Mayadeep resort: the only decent place to stay in & around #Chopta, Uttarakhand.

Mc'D & Haldiram broke & rebuilt joint toilet facility thrice on Haridwar highway but it's still stinking.

Highway road sign: "Speed thrills but kills". May be not convincing enough so now "often" is added before "kills".

Sadhus starting from Rishikesh cover Gangotri, Jamnotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath yatra on foot in around 45 days.

"Except cough and cold we don't catch any ailment": A Garhwal villager living far far away from any medical facility.

Arti/prayer timings at Parmanand ashram in Rishikesh adjusted daily to suit VIPs presence: Policeman on the spot.

ATMs often scare with no cash delivery but an SMS intimating withdrawal. Reverse transaction follows soon.

River rafting in Rishikesh prised between Rs. 350 & 650, but the one in Kullu was more exciting.

Garhwal roads clogged with Sikh pilgrims heading to Ponta Sahib & those on to 4 Dham Yatra.

Mahindra jeeps & SUVs outnumber any other vehicle on Garhwal hills.

Chotiwala in Rishikesh

Despite warnings of unending traffic jam between Rishikesh and Haridwar I have to push. Jams due to road construction.

It is a long trek from Laxham Jhula to Ram Jhula in Rishikesh.

Two Cafe Coffee Days in the middle of temple cluster in Rishikesh. A big relief for kids.

BSNL & Idea, the choice for Garwahl hills. Airtel & vodafone no signals.

Lansdowne - Poddy road littered with recent landslides. Would be very risky in monsoon.
